LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Men’s Golf Head Coach Steven Jensen announced the addition of two to the program. Jensen signed both Jack Brown and Pudge Williams to National Letters of Intent and the two will begin competition for the Saints this fall.
"I'm excited about Pudge and Jack joining our program," said head coach Steven Jensen, who is set to enter his third season at the helm." Both have been very competitive at the state level. More importantly, they are both great young men who will represent Siena well both on and off the golf course."
Jack Brown makes his way to Siena from Hudson, New Hampshire. He was a three-year varsity golf captain at Alvirne High School. Brown was the Lowell Sun Player of the Year in 2016. In 2015, he was named First Team All-State. At the 2017 New Hampshire Junior, Brown was the runner-up, but was the top qualifier in stroke play with a 30 on the front nine to carding a 68. He was the 2016 Nashua Cities Champion and also was the runner-up at the 2015 Challenge Cup Championship.
First Team All-Met by the Washington Post, Pudge Williams comes to Siena from Washington, D.C. He was a two-time First Team All-WCAC (Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) and the 2016 WCAC Player of the Year.Williams was a 2016 Honorable Mention All-Met by the Washington Post. He was a co-medalist at the 2017 WCAC Championship with a 1-under. At the Metro Championship, Williams finished in second with a 72 (even). At the AJGA qualifier, he finished tied for 2nd with a 1-under 70. Williams was a four-year letterman at Gonzaga College High School and graduated with a cumulative GPA above 4.0.
Brown and Williams join a Siena Men's Golf team which recently claimed the program's fourth MAAC Championship in 2016, and finished second this past spring.
